The changes of bile acids in different diseases are different. The detection of bile acid spectrum can diagnose liver and other diseases accurately. Detection Significance

Serum bile acid determination is a sensitive indicator for the early diagnosis of chronicity of acute hepatitis, the degree of inflammation and fibrosis of chronic hepatitis, portal hypertension of liver cirrhosis, the progression of severe hepatitis, and whether the obstruction is relieved in patients with obstructive jaundice.

Serum bile acid determination can assist in the diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, congenital biliary tract disease, liver transplantation and other diseases.

It can be used as an indicator for the monitoring of ursodeoxycholic acid and tauroursodeoxycholic acid medicine therapy.
